Position Title: Postdoctoral fellow position with Dr. Anastassia Voronova (University of Alberta, Canada)
Organization: University of Alberta
Location: Edmonton, AB, Canada
Summary of position: Located at the University of Alberta (Canada) within the Department of Medical Genetics, the Voronova Lab (https://sites.google.com/ualberta.ca/voronova-lab-web-site/home) is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar. Our research program investigates how cell-cell communication and epigenetic factors regulate oligodendrocyte development and repair. We utilize mouse models and human iPSCs to study neurodevelopmental disorders and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Our multidisciplinary approach incorporates advanced technologies such as single-cell spatial transcriptomics (MERFISH), scRNA-seq, drug discovery, live-cell imaging, murine surgery and demyelination assays. Recent papers from the lab include: Kibalnyk et al. Nat Comm 2024; Goodkey et al. 2024 BMC Medicine; Almeida et al. 2023 Stem Cell Reports, and others. The successful candidate will lead a project investigating the impact of genetic mutations on MS progression and response to treatments.
