Membership Dues

Keep your membership current and promptly renew your membership!

Dues for Ordinary members are $125. Student dues are $30/year

Postdoc dues are $30/year for the first 3 years after graduation and then rise to $50/year.

Emeritus dues are $0.

Call For Session Proposals

39th Annual ASN Meeting
San Antonio, Texas

March 1-5, 2008

The program committee invites proposal submissions
for symposia, colloquia and informal workshops.


The ASN program will encompass 4 broad themes:
1) Building the Nervous System
2) Glial Mechanisms & Injury
3) Metabolism, Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology
4) Neurodegeneration & disease


Proposals from younger investigators are welcome, and senior investigators are encouraged to consider appointing junior investigators as co-organizers.

ASN members and non-members are invited to submit proposals.

The deadline for session proposals is April 1, 2007.


Approaching Deadlines

January 31, 2007 is the deadline for Travel and Young Scientist Lectureship Awards.

January 31, 2007 is the deadline for the ISN Advanced  School, being held August 15-19 in the historic village of Valladolid, Yucatan, Mexico.

March 15, 2007 is the deadline for Abstract submission to the Cancun meeting being held August 19-25, 2007.

New Secretary

By a vote of the ASN Council at its last meeting, Dr. Steve Levison was appointed the new Secretary. The ASN thanks Dr. Gary Gibson for his past service to our society as the former Secretary.

Hugo Moser

In Memory of

Dr. Hugo Wolfgang Moser

October 4, 1924 - January 20, 2007

Dr. Moser was a member and friend of the ASN. His research on ALD led to critical advancements in treatment. Most recently, his landmark study of the preventative effects of Lorenzo’s Oil, proved the oil prevents the onset of disease symptoms for children suffering from this debilitating disorder.
